Such is the widespread respect for the Rajasthan Royals captain, not just for his achievements but also for his integrity, it s hard to imagine a player giving anything less than 100% for such a man. The fact that players under Dravid s captaincy allegedly indulged in spot-fixing highlights the magnitude of the problem cricket is facing. In a game that has suffered previously because of captains being directly involved in corruption, this is one time when you can be sure - as certain as is possible in such a dirty business - the skipper was blameless.

They can only be checkmated if CM lives up to the expectations of his people and prod his team to deliver a transparent administration. A tall order, but after the the honeymoon period, he will need all the good luck and God on his side. (Who knows, he may begin believing in God, not only Truth!)

I am neither suprised nor shocked. IPL is cric-entertainment, kinda horse-racing, cock-fighting, and our own kambala. The betting is atural and no fuss should be made about it.
The only people who should have issue is team owners, who want to wins and not losses. They should not mind betting; only about their players throwing away matches for a consideration. They fixer players have cheated their owners motivated by factors that we do not yet know.
The organzied crime can only be defeated when our national institutions have both the will and capable police chief. Otherwise, it is going to be a few days of salacious stories and TRPs for private tv channels.
As far as fans and audiences both watching at the stadium or at home, pay for being entertained. Their pleasure is not any less if matches are won by grit of by fixing.

Corruption and greed are too deep-rooted in Indian society and psyche to weed out. Greed is deep-rooted in Indian psyche which leads to corruption all over. Media tends to glorify money-making, which forces people to flaunt their wealth, fast cars and everything else. As far as the IPL’s spot-fixing controversy is concerned the cricket fan has a right to be angry and let down. And there is a part of me that wishes the anger continues for a while. Indian cricket must hurt, it must not only grieve. Thirteen years ago, when the first match-fixing matter erupted, India s cricket fans weren t angry for long enough. We must ask what the solution is. There has been much talk of educating and mentoring cricketers but every young cricketer, even at the Under-17 level, knows that he shouldn t be talking about money to people of questionable repute. And you can spot them a mile away. I wonder, therefore, if fear is a greater deterrent and that can only come through stringent laws. At the moment there is no law against match-fixing but that is now inevitable; it is required urgently and a zero-tolerance approach to anything that is against the spirit of the game.

People used to surround him wherever he went and he knew every one of them personally! A fitting tribute to the founder of the parish would be to buy (if still available)the existing hospital at Kanajar by the new bishop and hand it over to Fr Denis D sa to resurrect it after naming it after the late Msgr William A. Lewis.

Mr. Vincent Praveen rightly said tha 'nature always yields, so one must care for it and nurtures it'. On the other side our mind is like a garden. The daily grind can really take a toll on you and make your life stressful and unhappy. Sometimes, opting for something as simple as planting a sapling can make you feel better and de-stressed. There are people who take an interest in gardening as it gives them the satisfaction of seeing their green plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables grow, however, gardening does benefit us in many ways. According to research, gardening is known to have therapeutic effects on our stressed nerves. It helps us wind down. And that particular feeling, of having created something, is a powerful magical cure (elixir) that can take us a long way towards feeling happy, relaxed and totally de-stressed and gardening is not just an enjoyable pastime, it can also help deal with depression. Yet that aching back and those stiff muscles are, apparently, a good sign because a physical workout in the garden is said to help you feel younger!

Mr. Siddhu must take in confidence all communities to represent their local issues and not to deprive any sections of the society in particular keeping in mind the merits(literacy) their qualification etc. of every minister.
The simple reason is that the ministers should not be for name sake. They have to work for the issues which needs urgent attention and perform for the people. If any one minister cannot perform, then put the axe and show them the door after giving sufficient time to prove their mettle.

To be fair to all districts, it is one per district atleast. The three coastal districts have to be satisfied with four. Others of course have development boards to chair, and get ministerial privileges.
