Yedyurappa promises to give an efficient government

Udupi, 24 October 2010: Chief Minister BS Yedyurappa has promised to give an efficient government, with reforms in administration, for the next two and a half year. He was speaking after releasing ‘Kanasugara Kodgi’, a book on the life and achievements of AG Kodgi, Chairman of the State Third Finance Commission Report Implementation Committee.

 

Speaking on the occasion he recalled Gandhiji’s statement ‘democracy is good because other systems are worse’ and said that he would see to it that during his tenure people would not lose hope on their elected representatives. In his presidential address Lokayuktha Santhosh Hegde said that with the entry of more and more statesmen in to politics, there would not be a need for Lokayuktha. Lesser the role models democracy would be at stake, Hegde said.

 

Pejawar Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji felicitated AG Kodgi on completing 82 years. Education Minister Dr VS Acharya, Power Minister Shobha Karandlaje, Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission Ramachandregowda, MPs DV Sadananda Gowda and BY Raghavendra and others were present.

 

 

Later CM inaugurated the MESCOM Divisional Office at Kundapur. CM also participated at a function organized by G Shankar Family Trust to distribute the Manipal Arogya Suraksha Card to 40,000 members of 7,000 families. Speaking on the occasion Yedyurappa announced to extend the benefits of Vajapeyi Arogyashri programme to all the districts, from the present seven districts.

 

In his address G Shankar demanded the government to release funds for the construction of Mogaveera Community halls. Dr VS Acharya, Lalaji R Mendon, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Dr HS Ballal, Nagaraj Shetty, Pramod Madhwaraj and others were present.

 

Later, inaugurating eight roads constructed at a cost of Rs 9 crores, under the Pradhana Manthri Grama Sadak Yojna, Yedyurappa announced a grant of Rs 9 crores for taking up Under Ground Drainage works in the Kollur town.

 

He cautioned the opposition parties to learn to behave as responsible opposition or to find a permanent position as the opposition. Shimoga MP BY Raghavendra, Byndore MLA Laxminarayana, Kundapura MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty and others were present.

I do not believe this C.M who has proved lier and dishonest to the core , any more for his statement that he would provide efficient administration , with the present MLAs and Reddy borthers in the team.
