Udupi: Cultural programmes as part of Ganesh Utsav presented at Moodubelle and Dendoor Katte

Udupi, 11 Sep 2013: As part of the Ganesh Utsav, various cultural programs were organized by the Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava Samiti sof Belle-Kattingeri which is in its 34th year of celebrating the Ganesh Utsava and  Dendoor Katte which is in 6th years of the festval.

 

 

The idols of Shri Ganesh were installed at Gita Mandir in Moodubelle and Dendoor Katte on Monday, September 9, 2013.  There were cultural programmes spread over three days along with religious rituals at both places.  On Tuesday September 10, 2013 there was fancy dress competition at Moodubelle followed by various folk dance presentation sponsored by Henry Alva of Belle and Rajendra Shetty of Thirlapalke. At 10 pm Tulu comedy play “Erend Panodchi…” was presented by Nigalna Kalvider, Belle. The play was written by Dinakara Bhandary, Kanajar and directed by Prabhakar Acharya, Edmeru.

 

At Dendoor Katte, on Monday, September 9, Tulu mythological play “Katildappe  Ullaldhi..” was presented at 9 pm. The play was written by Kadri Navaneetha Shetty and directed  by Shri Jeevan Ullal and presented by Shri Lalithe Kalavidaru and Lion Kishore D. On  Tuesday, September 10, 2013,  Yakshagana Talamaddhali titled “Bhishma Viajaya” was presented by Shri Brahma Baidarkala Yakshagana Mandali, Bolje. This thalamaddhali was directed by  Shri Thonse Jayant Kumar.  There was also variety entertainment programme presented by local artists. From 9 pm there was music concert titled “Shades – Music World”, presented by K.K. Naushad and Group from Mangalore.
