Speaking to Deccan Herald, Sanjana said there is no substitute for hard working and strong determination. “We should make revision everyday of whatever we are being taught on the day.

I would study three hours daily and the result was expected. I am happy for scoring good marks. Scheduled hours and disciplined way of studying is good and it brings success. I owe my success to all my teachers and parents especially to my brother who supported me a lot. I will take up the combination of PCMB in PU,” she added. Sanjana wants to be a doctor and serve people.

DK in 7th position

The total pass percentage in Dakshina Kannada district which was 78 last year has increased to 85.24 per cent this year, thus witnessing a rise of seven per cent.

Deputy Director of Public Instructions Moses Jayashekhar said that the programmes and workshops conducted for the schools teachers and head teachers of those schools which secured low result last year, has helped to a great extent in improving the SSLC results this year.

“The pass percentage of the students who have written exam after attending the regular schooling is still higher in the district. But as the pass percentage of those who have privately taken up the exam is only 25 percentage of the 2,500 people who have written the exam, it has affected the overall results. The number of private candidates in other districts is not as higher as in Dakshina Kannada,” he said.

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyana Project Co-ordinator Shivaprakash said that the teachers in some of the schools had really put lot of efforts to get good results this year. The effort has yielded the fruit and the programmes and workshops will be a continued programme to get good results, he said.
