Moodubelle, 04 September 2011: After two days of incessant rains during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, the day that the people had too bid good bye to the deity, the sky was clear and rains spared the grand procession from being drenched. It was a wonderful sight to witness the grand procession prior to the visarjane of Shri Ganesh.
After the Mahapuje at the Geeta Mandir in the evening of Saturday, September 3, 2011, the procession began at 5.30 pm to the sound of music and burst f fire crackers. A large number of Belleans were part of the procession. There were also few tableaus as well as ‘Gombe dancers; and ‘Huli-vesha’ dancing all the way and entertaining the spectators as well as processionists.
First the procession coming down from the Santekatte went through the main road till Ganapana Katte from where it returned by the same way and proceeded down up to Thirlapalke where the idol of Shri Ganesh was immersed in the lake.
There was fanfare and shuts of joy as the deity was taken in procession. Lighting arrangement was made by the side of the road in order to avoid inconvenience to the processionists. It was a great experience for the people as there was no rain and the procession was orderly and disciplined.
