Heavy rains do not dampen the spirit of Ganesh Devotees

Moodubelle, 01 September 2011: September 1, 2011, the day of the beginning of Ganeshotsava will be remembered for a long time for the heaviest rains in recent memory. In spite of the heavy rain the spirit and devotion of the devotees of Ganesha could be seen when they assembled at various Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava Mandals to install the deity and carry on religious and cultural programmes associated with this festival.
In Moodubelle, the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsva Samiti of Belle-Kattingeri which has been celebrating the three day long Ganeshotsava for the last thirty two years installed the large Ganesh idol in the elegantly decorated stage in the Geeta Mandir near the Belle Grama Panchayat Office on September 1, 2011 at 12 noon. The members of the Samiti and eminent personalities of Belle-Kattingeri and members of the Grama Panchayat were present during this occasion. The Belle Melpete Friends offered a Rudraksha Garland to the deity costing Rs. 10, 555/- The Marina Industry-Edmeru, Moodubelle proprietors donated a steel cupboard to the Samiti on this occasion.
There will be various religious and cultural programmes during the three days from September 1 to September 3, 2011. There will be ‘Mahaannasantarpane’ on September 2, from 12.30 pm and the procession and immersion of the Ganesh idol will take place on September 3, 2011 from 5 pm onwards.
