Shocking to know that Dear Mastram is no more. Even more dreadful to read that he lost his life due to tragic accident. May God Almighty embrace the family in comfort during this difficult and painful time. I gratefully remember his role as ADVISOR of ICYM during my tenure as its president during 1984-1986. He directed most of the dramas that we staged during those years in and around Belle. Under his direction we won several prizes in the inter-parish Konkani drama competitions. Once the purposes are served he is taken away as one rose after seeing its beauty is plucked and taken away so that others would enjoy the fragrance and beauty. likewise Life is uncertain and none of us know when our dear God will take it away for keeping close to him in his Heavenly abode. Our dear Peter Raphael master had played his role well; served his mission to the best of his ability for his students, institutions and the society as the Lord guided him. May be, he might not have pleased every one. But as I know him, he was used and used and not forgotten, but the Lord has taken him away without notice to any body.
I deeply mourn his sad demise though by accident, and he has not been a cause of suffering on the bed for his wife and family to suffer. The article shows one thing very clearly- we are fascinated by our CASTE origin.After being Catholics for maybe 3 or 4 centuries-so much about believing in the main tenet of the New Testament :equality amongst humans.even the letters here try to convey the same.
