You deserve for all the praise and round of applause from everyone who knows you personally and reads this column, which Dr. Eugene had very nicely described on you in detail on the occasion of International Women's day . You are really a Blessings for belle Parish and you have made us to feel proud in many occasions. I don't know you much personally , but I have heard from many people about your hidden talents and you have already proved that in belle parish in many occasions. I still remember the day, when we made a farewell to Fr. Francis and Fr. Valerian Dsouza in Mangalore and then while coming back on the bus you had made us all to smile with your humorous jokes even though we were all very sad to say goodbye especially to Fr. Valerian in that situation. You have already blended your life into our parish activities very actively and also in many Social Service fields even though you have your own family responsibilities. Meera bai has been a blessing to our parish. Her calm and effective personality is the inspiration to anybody, especially to every women. Dr. Eugene have chosen the right words to describe her. Every member of their family are talented. It was so much fun we had with the company of Francis bab during the many years here in Doha. We also see the same leadership qualities in Avith who is currently one of the most active among the office bearers of Bellevision Qatar. I wish Meera bai all the best, please continue your good work, because you have so much more to give to the community.

The contributions of Henry Fernandes towards the community has been enormous. I have seen him actively working for the parish for long hours during the new church construction and also during the centenary celebrations, in spite of having his own commitments. Henry bab and Meera bai have been a good and able team during their tenure in the Parish Pastoral Council. They both will remain in the history and the generations will remember them.

The views expressed so far have not caused a change of heart: I still believe additional bridges across belle river are not a priority need. I suggest that Belle GP publish on-line its budget. It should place before the community its developmental priorities, resource allocation and project schedules. If projects have not been taken up due to lack of funds, GP should tax residents and businesses to whom it serves, within the purview of GP Act 1992. Among tax measures, VAT on quarrying, granite mining, river bed sand dredging, all transportation activities, surcharge taxes on turnover from paid services such as catering, event management, building construction services, investment advisory services including LIC and other insurance agencies, etc. Those who exploit its natural and human resources should share a portion of their earnings with the local community. GP should be innovative and bold in levying and collecting the taxes. With doles only, GP cannot invest community development. And one more thing, local elected leaders, please work to make the Block Development Officers accountable to people.

Our woman of substance has endured personal pain from alcoholism in her household. She has not broken; instead, she has borne her cross with stoicism. As BMN honors her today, I remember her, Francis and their sons in my prayers.

I have seen lot of comments opinions regarding the local panchayat issues like bridge roads dams etc mostly who works in the Gulf but our locals not bothered about our opinion neither they interested nor they have a internet our locals enjoying their life without tension In Front of them we are nothing we are here working like a donkey we have to wake up early in the morning but our locals enjoying best part of their life, we are called N.R.I. I mean to say neglected residents of India why? we cant have I D card, ration card, forget about the voting card, we are like cats,honestly anybody slap on your face you cant give it back because you are a N.R.I why should we comment there is no use, I know it is a still mystery about Kabadi bridge, I use to travel this route nearly 40 years back now still the same, just we can say pray to God

A good discussion about whether to construct bridges or not to construct. Dear Philip, Without bridges, how we bridge the gap? Panchayat office is an option, but bridge at Kabyadi is a must. During my school days most of the people from Moddubelle / Pamboor traveled through this route. With boat service coming to an end people were compelled to use alternatives. Authorities should see the best possible location to construct the bridge.

And make a stop in front of every house. That would be a real sign of development!

From Manipura-Alevoor Bdridge to Nalku Beedi the widened roads must be covered with Tar. As it is found that the jalli stored is lifted to elsewhere and it is apprehensive if the work will continue. if there are no signs depsite followup people will have to agitate before the concerned authority including road bund. The state government simply promises but the local leaders including Mr Mendon must be serious about the responsibility. I hope that this task will be attended to with equal good spirits then only the extension of city service will be useful. Good luck the all concerned.

With great pleasure I congratulate Mr Henry Fernandes for his great achievements in life as also for the glorious service he has rendered to St. Lawrence church as Vice-President of the Parish council for two terms. While Jesus was carrying the cross to Kalvary, Simon of Siren was found to reduce his burden. Like wise it was perhaps the divine plans to assist the Prists of St Lawrence Church Mr Henry Fernandes was available. it was so because during his times as vice president the church had two historic events, a New church building and the Centrenary celebrations.Mr Frnandes has rendered excellent work and earned for him God s Blessings.May God blessing and grant him Long cherished life full of happiness, always.
