Mangalore: DC convenes meeting of all political parties on vote counting

Mangalore, 12 May 2014: Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner and electioneering officer (DC) Ibrahim here on Monday May 12 morning, convened a meeting of all political parties related to vote counting of LS polls.
DC Ibrahim offered information on the preparations for micro observers, assignment of officers, and announcement of results to the political parties.
The candidates of each political party had to assign an agent and submit the list of all agents by Monday May 12 evening. ZP president, TP president, gram panchayat president and president and vice present town panchayats are not allowed to be agents, said DC Ibrahim.
The parking arrangements is being done nearby Women Polytechnic where vote counting center has been set up and behind the grounds of government quarters at Bondel, here, said DC Ibrahim. He also urged the political parties to observe strict discipline and co-operate towards smooth counting of votes.
Fourteen tables are placed for each legislative assembly constituency and votes will be counted from a total of 1,766 Electronic Voting Machines, said DC Ibrahim.
ADC Sadashiv Prabhu, sub division officer Dr Prashant, municipal commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde and others were present.
