Muscat, 15 September 2010: The eagerly awaited Bellevision-Muscat annual picnic was organised on 12th September 2010 at Barka Farm, few kilometres from the Muscat city. Every member of Bellevision-Muscat was on a holiday mood due to four days of Eid holidays. Besides, the Monthi Festh added to the enthusiasm of the members. All members along with their families met at the Barka filling station at 9 am from where all proceeded to the farm, 3 kilometres away. The group comprised of 80 adults and 40 children.

That activities at the picnic spot commenced with the prayer service conducted by by Mrs Judith Lobo. President of Bellevision-Muscat, Mr.Edward Mendonca welcomed the participants following which breakfast was served which included ‘idlis and chettni’.

For entertainment and fun, the entire group was divided into four teams led by a captain. A panel of three judges was also constituted to assign points to the teams and individuals for their performance.

Each group had to perform certain tasks such as fashion show and different fun games such as ‘dog and the bone’ and ‘love-marriage and divorce. There were two games meant for the children and two for the adults.

At around 12 noon, the children cooled the summer heat at the swimming pool when adults were warming and cooling themselves with beverages and snacks. Even some adults who were in a mood to have a dip in the water joined the kids in the swimming pool. At the end of the games there was a Housie-Housie game for all.

As everyone was hungry by then, lunch was served at 3 pm which was prepared by Mrs. Gracybai– menu was rice, kuwalachi kadi, tendli-chane, lonche and chicken sukka.

Following the sumptuous lunch prizes were distributed to the winning individuals and teams. Tea was served at 5 pm followed by the distribution of goodies for all the children. At 6 pm the picnic was winded up with the thank giving note by the president for all the people who had participated in the picnic and also he expressed gratitude to all the sponsors and the people who helped to make the picnic a grand success.
