Billava Sangha Kuwait successfully organised Family Picnic- 2013

Kuwait, 12 Oct 2013 : Billava Sangha Kuwait successfully held its first Family Picnic on 4 Oct 2013 at Mishref Gardens. The pleasant sunny day of October proved to be an enjoyable and pleasurable day with excitement being well evident as all Billavas participated in games lined up especially for them.

 

It commenced with a warm welcome rendered by Mithun Vishwanath and Chandrika Lathesh and a prayer sung by Dhanraj K, Jyothi Suvarna, Mamta Sandeep & Ashwitha Surendra. The March past which followed soon after was led by Dhiraj Salian, while the picnic was inaugurated with cutting the ribbon by the Sports Secretary. The President, Mr. Mohandas Poojary hoisted the Billava Sangha flag, spoke a few words of encouragement and declared the games open with the traditional breaking of a coconut.

The kids enjoyed playing lemon with spoon, passing the parcel, ball game and musical chairs. The ladies played sack race, an exciting game of breaking the pot and an enthusiastic shot put, while the men enjoyed games like coin in the flour, breaking the pot and shot put as well. The picnic witnessed thrilling team games of Kabbadi, Voleyball and Throwball with many teams as below giving their names and playing in an extremely sportive spirit.

The raffle draw ticket printing was sponsored by Mingash restaurant, while they also served scrumptious lunch for all present during the day. Sonstep Typing Center in Old Reggae sponsored the drinking water for the picnic,while Avanti Palace & Caesars Restaurant were co-sponsors at the days events. The trophies, medals and gifts were sponsored by Amith Kumar, Vijay Kavoor, Jyothi Suvarna, Rajesh Poojary, Govind Belchada, ChitrekBangera and AK Ravindra.

The Picnic was well organized by the Sports Secretary Sandeep Kumar Attavar. The photography was efficiently done by our Joint PRO, SurendraPoojary while the DJ for the day was Roshan Rodrigues. Sudhir Kumar and Ravindra Salian proved to be unbiased referees for the games.

The picnic came to an end with the prize distribution and announcement of Raffle Draw winners. Vote of thanks given by General Secretary Sushma Bangera. The raffle draw winners had 5 consolation prizes, a Samsung Mobile, an LED TV and a Gold Coin of 10 grams. The day was concluded in a very joyous note.
