Udupi: Various activities by ICYM Moodubelle under the leadership of president Alwyn Lobo

Moodubelle, 11 July 2013: ICYM, the youth organization of Moodubelle parish is organizing several events every year for the benefit its members as well as for the society.  Events such as Talents Day, Youth seminar, sports events, education support programs are a few among them.

 

On 30 June 2013 Vanamahotsava program was organised after the 7.30 am mass.  This event was organised jointly under the leadership of ICYM and Sthree Sanghatan.  Parish Priest along with other priests from the church, Sister superior of Loretto convent attended the event.  Mrs.Thereza Lobo gave a brief about the importance of having trees and plants around us while Roylene Rodrigues compared the entire event.  Later different saplings were planted around the Church and school compound by the ICYM members.

 

A half day Orientation programme for youth was conducted on July 7, 2013 in English medium school hall.  The topic of the day was ROLE OF YOUTH IN CHURCH.  Michael Rodrigues from Sastan was the resource person who conducted the seminar very effectively.  How the ICYM and its activities can positively influence ones career as well as future was explained and every youth was encouraged to take active part in church activities.  Fr.Robert from Assisi Nilaya, A K Alva, Jacintha DSouza, Maxim Dsa, and Fr.Paul Sequiera attended the stage program.  ICYM President Alwyn Lobo welcomed all while Jovita Mendonca compared the stage event.  More than 40 youth from the parish attended this very effective seminar.

 

 

 

 

 

General body meeting was held on 9 June 2013 to elect new office bearers and hand over the responsibilities to the new team.  Election was held in the presence of Fr.Joswey Fernandes – Director of ICYM, Fr.Paul, ICYM animator and others  Following office bearers were elected for year 2013 – 2014.

Desmond Alva presented the annual accounts, while outgoing as well as newly elected presidents gave their opinions and thanked all members for the support.  Entire event was conducted by Lloyd Rebello
