Muscat: Workshop on ‘Improving Personal Effectiveness’ organised at NTI

Muscat, 30 June 2010: With a view that Belleans in Muscat not only come together for socializing and fun but also believe in helping each other in improving their life in every aspect, a workshop on improving one’s personal effectiveness was organised at the NTI premises Al Khuwair on Friday, 25th June 2010. Twenty two members and guests were present for the  workshop.

The workshop on “Improving One’s Personal Effectiveness” was conducted by Mr. Lawrence Alva.  The workshop focused on ways and means of making one’s life more effective and meaningful.   The participants learned that in order to change one’s behaviour one must learn to be aware of his or her attitudes and consciously address his or her  thoughts.  It was amazing to realize how differently people  perceive the world outside themselves from one’s  own judgement and thus, their behaviour is  based on their own perception.

Mr. Lawrence Alva addressed some of the habits that one must cultivate to live a better life and focused on the need for building one’s life on strong character and values rather than on what looks apparently successful to the outer world.  As the workshops progress it is also planned that there will be specific sessions on developing some of the personal skills necessary to lead a successful life. The workshop was not only educative but also filled with fun and discussions such that all who were present could participate and share their views and thoughts.

This was the first session and some of the members could not attend due to vacations and other commitments. All those who missed the first session are also welcome to join the second session scheduled to be held on Friday, the 23rd of July 2010 at the NTI premises, starting at 10.15 AM.  Those who wish to attend the second session can  contact Mr Anil, who will be coordinating these events. Friends and relatives can be invited to join these sessions and make use of the opportunity for self-development.
