Pamboor: Christmas Get-together celebrated at Bantakal

Pamboor, 21 December 2011: Catholic Sabha Mangalore’s Holy Cross Church Pamboor Unit conducted Christmas friendly get-together at Bantakal Ganeshotsava Vedike on Tuesday. The program was presided over by Pamboor Unit President Naveen Quadros. Chief Guests present on the occasion include Karkala Jnanasudha P.U. College Lecturer Adarsha Gokhale, Udupi Minority Vedike Former President Qatib Abdul Rashid and Pamboor Church Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Charles Luis.
Inaugurating the occasion Adarsha Ghokale said that, the feeling of equality among all the religion should start at home. India is popular for peace and cooperation even from the ancient time. The principles of all the religions are the same, which is to live with peace, love and cooperation. There are many similarities between the lives of Krishna and Christ. Our children should admire the heroism of patriotic citizens, the solder who watch the border of our country and not the film stars or politicians, he said.
Qatib Abdul Rashid in his speech said that, the root of all the religions is the same and it is unfortunate that the people without studying the religious scriptures just fight with each other without actually knowing others. India is a country of cooperation and everyone should work together in building the country through social work. During the festivals, conducting this kind of friendly get together is very important, he said.
Speaking on the occasion Fr. Charles Luis gave the message of the Christ and said that, Jesus Christ who served the people who were poor and rejected by the society, which should be ideal thing to adopt in our lives. Naveen Prakash welcomed the guests and the gathering. Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Frdrick Menezes proposed vote of thanks. Secretary John D’Souza was present on the dias. Lucas D’Souza compeered the program.
The students of Bantakal Durgaparameshwari School, Pamboor Catholic School, Pamboor Manasa Centre and the members of Catholic Women’s Unit conducted various cultural programs.
