Kuwait, 28 December 2011: The resounding success of past Christmas events- ‘Joyeux Navidad 2006’ and  ‘Joyeux Navidad 2007’, motivated the Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait (AAK) to spread the Christmas cheer once again on 24th December 2011 at the Movenpick Hotel, FTZ, Shuwaikh.

The Christmas season started off Carol singing by the ladies of AAK along with their little children.  Santa painted the town RED as they moved from house to house spreading Christmas cheer.

The Executive Committee members of Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait had left no stone unturned to organize a Christmas extravaganza on the eve of Christmas keeping in line the tradition of their Alma-Mater an event called “Joyeux Navidad 2011”. The event commenced at 10:30 p.m. with a welcome goodie bag handed over to each family as they entered the venue. The President- Diana D’Souza extending a warm welcome to the gathering and thanked the audience and sponsors for their support towards the AAKs` cause of financially supporting the education of meritorious yet, underprivileged students at their Alma Mater St. Agnes College, Mangalore, India. Thereafter, the dynamic and well-famed Master of Ceremony Lloyd D’Souza took over.

While the crowd gradually increased in number, the AAK Star contest for children took the centre stage. With about 23 children taking part, the judges Mrs. Sophia Pais and Mrs. Vinutha Miranda were faced with a challenging task of selecting the Stars of ‘Joyeux Navidad 2011’.  The AAK Star (female) of the evening was Ms. Rumelle D’Souza and The AAK Star (male) was Master Ruyen Correa.

With the children all set to the mood of the event, Christmas Carols were sung along with the Band ‘The Classix’ and the grand entry of Mrs. & Mr. Santa led by little reindeers- Clyde D’Silva, Jorel Patrao, Dasha D’Silva, Tia Dias, Lianne Fernandes, Angle D’Mello, Abner Fernandes and Natasha Andrade brought added cheer to the event.

AAK Office bearers and Committee members together with Mrs. and Mr. Santa cut the Christmas Cake. Children received their well deserved goodie bags from Santa Claus at the Santa’s Corner. Enthusiastic parents didn’t miss the opportunity of grabbing these moments on camera.

The joyful Christmas eve moved on with a dance session by the Live band ‘The Classix’, followed by the non-stop dancing session from ‘Music Masters’ (DJ Marlon and John).  Spot prizes interrupted the dance session only leaving the crowd wanting for more music and gifts.
