Mumbai, May.14: Lavina, a student of Canossa High School, Mahakali, Andheri East, has made her school and family immensely proud by scoring an outstanding 96.4% in the SSC Board Exams, Securing 1st rank in her school.
What makes Lavina’s achievement even more remarkable is that she is a low vision student with 70% visual impairment. Despite being unable to see the blackboard even from the first bench, Lavina never gave up. She used 7x magnifying glasses and specialized magnifying spectacles to study and write her exams — all without the help of a writer or attending any classes or tuitions.
Lavina extends special thanks to Dr. Chinmaya Sahu (Ophthalmologist) for providing her with the visual aids that made this journey possible.
"I have always stood first every year, and this year is no different. This is a proud moment for me and my school. I owe everything to my parents, who have been my pillars of strength, and my elder brother, who supported me academically," Lavina says.
Her Dream?
To pursue Science and enter the medical field, serving others just as she has been helped.
Lavina’s Message to All: Challenges will come, but don’t give up. If I can do it, you can too.”
Lots of good wishes to Lavina Wilfred Menezes and her family.
