He was speaking after inaugurating two-day job fair, seventh edition of ‘Alva’s Pragati’ organized by Alva’s Educational Foundation® at V S Acharya Hall here on Saturday July 2.
‘I have greatly benefitted from this society, it has shaped me a responsible human being and gave chance to serve mankind in many ways,’ asserted Shetty. ‘Though I came from a poor background, my hard work and continuous effort took me to this stage. Today, we are in diversified sectors like pharmaceuticals, global financial service, retail, advertising and information technology,’ he added. He also said, ‘His New Medical Centre is today UAE’s largest private health care provider and with its hospitals and medical centers, it serves to over 2 million patients annually across 12 facilities spread over 5 cities and 4 emirates. Dr Mohan Alva is phenomenal in serving the society in many ways and this job fair is highly potential platform for rural masses to cherish their aspired dreams,’ said Shetty.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA K Abhaychandra Jain said, ‘Rrecent development in the field of education has made yen number of job aspirants to come out of engineering, technical and medical colleges. Hence, Alva’s Pragati is boon for those candidates in actual terms. He added that this common platform provides excellent opportunities to the companies to interact with talented youths who are willing to go that extra mile to prove them.’
Alva’s Educational Foundation chairman Dr Mohan Alva welcomed the gathering. MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik, Alva’s Educational Foundation managing trustee Vivek Alva, Jayashree Sudhakar were present among others.

Alva’s Pragati is a largest placement drive organized by Alva’s Education Foundation. This seventh edition of Pragati witnesses 304 companies on the first day of Pragati. Nearly 10,242 students have registered online 2,173 students done spot registration and 10,856 attended the first day of Alva’s Pragati. NMC, Amazon, IBM, Oracle, UAE Exchange, Tesco, Standard Charted and many other premiere companies are part of this mega placement drive and looking for eligible candidates and moreover with spot offer letters.
For the convenient of the aspirants main block is dedicated for the jobs available for Degree, Post Graduate and Engineering Degree Holders where as Degree block is allotted to ITI, Diploma, PUC and SSLC candidates. And to assist the job seekers 2 Employability Enhancement Centre is located at Nudisiri Vedike and Main block, which provides proper career guidance. Alva’s Pragati will conclude on Sunday July 3 evening.
