Moodbidri: Dr Mohan Alva urges promising athletes to make best use of synthetic track

Moodbidri, 17 Jan 2015: It’s a major sports meet that was made possible because of earnest interest of state sports minister Abayachandra Jain. The state administration has provided synthetic track for the budding athletes which got to be utilized to the fullest. Said Alvas Education Foundation® chairman Dr M Mohan Alva.
Dr Alva was speaking during the inaugural of All India Inter-University Athletic Championship that was organized in association with Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences, state administration and Alvas College here.
Dr Alva called on athletes to make use of state facilities to excel in sports both in national and international arena.
Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences vice chancellor Professor K S Ravindranat hoisted the flag.
The athletes Joyleen Lobo, Basavaraj Horatti, Jamaluddin, K S Ashok and M R Poovamma lighted the sports torch.
The coaches of Universities were felicitated for making their mark in past inter-university sports meet.
The state youth empowerment and sports chief secretary Dr N Nagambikadevi, minister Abayachandra Jain, former minister Amaranat Shetty, Mangalore University vice chancellor Professor Bairappa and others were present.
Rajeev Gandhi University of Health Sciences registrar Prem Kumar welcomed the gathering. The lecturer Deepa Kottari compered the programme.
