ICYM Udupi Denary Organizes Inter parish Variety Entertainment Competitions

Udyavara, 01 March 2011: Inter Parish Variety entertainment Competitions “Yuva Sambhram – 2011” organized by the ICYM Udupi Deanery at St. Francis Xavier Church Udyavara was held on Sunday 27th February 2011.

 

The programme was presided over by  Fr. Charles Noronha, Parish Priest of Udayavara. Commodore J. F. Castelino Retired Naval Officer and  Mrs. Stella Ida D’Souza, Zilla Panchayt Member were the chief guests.

 

The programme started with the Prayer hymn sung by ICYM Unit of Udyavar. Fr. William Martis, Director of ICYM Udupi Denary welcomed the guests.

 

The Yuva Sambhram – 2011 was inaugurated by Commodore J. F. Castelino along with the guests on the dais by  lighting the lamp.

 

 

Fr. Charles Noronha congratulated the participants for enthusiastically taking part in the variety entertainment competitions.
Following the stage programme,  Rithesh D’Souza-President of ICYM Udupi Denary introduced the three Judges of the competitions-Mr. Ronald Siquera, Senior Journalist of the Deccan Herald, Mr. Michael Rodrigues-Ex-ICYM Udupi District President and  Miss Wilma Serrao,  Journalist of the Costal Digest.com.

 

Rohan D’Souza, Secretary of the ICYM Udupi Denary anchored the cultural competitions efficiently and in a lively manner. The competition was held in the categories the Bible Skit, Folk Dance and Master of Ceremonies.

 

Following the competitions on the basis of the points assigned by the three judges, the following parishes were declared as the winners of the inter-parish cultural competitions Yuva Sambhram-2011.

Overall Championship: First Place-St. Lawrence Church Moodubelle;
Second Place: Mount Rosary Church Santhekatte Bagged Second place.

The following parishes secured prizes for the individual items:
Best MC – Our Lady of Fathima Church, Perampalli
Best Bible Skit – St. Lawrence Church, Belle
Best Folk Dance – St. Lawrence Church, Belle
