Felicitation function held for Christian Zilla and Taluk Panchayat Candidates of the Udupi District

Udupi, 16 January 2011: In a unique and meaningful function, the United  Christian Association (UCA) Udupi Kundapur Northern Zone felicitated all the Christian candidates who had contested in the recently held Zilla and Taluk  Panchayat elections on Sunday, 16th January 2011 at 4.00 pm in the Shiva Kripa Auditorium Sastan.

 

Mr. William Mark Lewis President of Christian Political Forum, Brahmavar, presided over the function. Three newly elected Taluk Panchyath members-Mrs. Veronica Corenelio (Uppoor Taluk Panchyath), Mrs. Lilly D’Souza (Mudarangady Taluk Panchayth) and Mrs. Roshani Olivera ( Airody – Sastan) were present for the felicitation function.

 

William Mark Lewis called upon the people belonging to Christian community to get more and more involved with political activities. He asked them to contest the gram panchayat, taluk panchayat and zilla panchayat elections, and strive to serve the people through the means of politics.

 

 

Mr. James Olivera PD of Pompai Junior College and Mr. Godwin Fernandes Ex – Vice President of Holy Family Church,  Brahmavar complimented all the candidates for their efforts in contesting the Taluk and Zilla Panchayth elections.

 

All Three winning candidates expressed their feelings of gratitude and happiness towards the UCA for organizing the felicitation function for them.

 

Mr. Sylvester D’Souza Representative  of UCA Northern Zone,  Mr. Cloud Lewis and Mr. Moses Lewis, Members of Airody Grama Panchayth, Mr. James Olivera, Mr. Godwin Gonsalves and others were present on the dais.

 

Mr. Sylvester D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Mr. Cloud Lewis proposed vote of thanks.
