Two young children and their mother from Shankerpura who had gone to Dubsi to spend a month’s summer vacation with their father tragically became the victims of one of the worst air crashes in recent history of Indian aviation on Saturday, 22 May 2010 early morning, when Air India Express
Lalaji R. Mendon, the MLA from the Kaup Constituency paid a visit to the homes of the victims of the Air India Express crash-Pravin Shettigar, Ignatius D’Souza and Cavin Sequeira in the afternoon of Saturday, 22 May 2010 and consoled the members of the bereaved families.
Ignatius D’Souza of Manibettu became the third unfortunate victim of the Air India Express Tragedy from the neighbouring regions of Moodubelle, Cavin Sequeira of Marne and Pravin Shettigar of Mattar being the other two victims.
Pravin Shettigar, who was working in an office at Dubai was specially coming to attend the inauguration and housewarming of the new house of his sister Jayashree on Saturday and Sunday, 22 and 23 May and the marriage ceremony of his brother Bhaskar on Wednesday 26 may 2010.
In the horrendous crash of the Dubai-Mangalore Air India Express in the early morning of 22nd May 2010, the 16 year old young student from Marne, Cavin Sequeira, son of Charles and Benedicta Sequeira of St John the Baptist II Ward was tragically killed.
