Shantala Trophy-2011 Cricket Tournament held at Padubettu-Hangarakatte

Moodubelle, 18 April 2011: The limited overs  Cricket Tournament for the annual Shantala Trophy was held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Padubettu ground in Hangarakatte from 9 am to 5.30 pm. Fifteen teams from different localities. The tournament was inaugurated by Mrs. Shantala Shetty by lighting the lamp. Other dignitaries included Prashant Shetty and Sandesh Shetty, both businessmen in Bellary, Mrs. Asha Shetty,  Mrs Amba Shetty, Jagadish Shetty and members of the Kodibettu Grama Panchayat-Ganesh Shetty and Manish Bhat.

 

 

After elimination rounds, the final match was  played between Durga Friends team, Attradi and Belle Friends, Moodubelle. In a  tightly conested match, Durga Friends, Attradi emerged as winners and bagged the  Shantala Trophy-2011 and Rs.5555/- in cash prize. Belle Friends Team was runners up with trophy and Rs.3333/- as prize money.

 

Prizes were also given to those players who had shown their proficiency in different  areas of the tournament:

 

1.       Man of the Series-Sukesh from Durga Friends, Attradi
2.       Man of the Match-Ganesh from Durga Friends, Attradi
3.       Best batsman –Sukesh from Durga Friends, Attradi
4.       Best Bowler-Sandeep from Belle Friends, Moodubelle

 

The  Shantala 2011 - Trophy & the cash prizes were given to the winner of the tournament by Mrs. Shantala Shetty,The organizer of the Tournament.
