Pleasing to note that Coastal Konkani tradition kept alive thousands of miles away! God bless the faithful.

The nine days Novenas were organised with the help of parish pastoral council members from three different churches along with the Irish parish priests. All the priests supported me in arranging this in four different churches as I am the parish pastoral council secretary of one of the parish Churches, Beaumont Nativity of Our Lord Church and I am so grateful to them. I am also immensely grateful to the Konkans Ireland community in Ireland for giving their support to go ahead with the Novenas in the Church instead of conducting it in each house as usually done all these years. The main intention of conducting the Novena s in the Church was to involve the Irish community to know how Mother Mary is venerated during Her Nativity feast according to the tradition of the Konkani catholic community in India. Many Irish people joined the Novena and got the blessings. They were fascinated by the offering of flowers and were curious about how this celebration started. So an introduction to the celebration also was given to them so that they became aware of the tradition and the participation became meaningful.
