B’lore : Monorail in Mangalore near Possibility

Bangalore, 18 Sep, 2013 : At the backdrop of no concrete proposals received from different districts across Karnataka to build airports; the state government is contemplating on beginning monorail in key towns, said information and basic infrastructure minister Santosh Lad.
Addressing the media persons, minister Santosh said that its not a easy task to build airports in each district. The consortiums of infrastructural developments have shown interest in laying monorail facility in key towns of different district including Hubli, Bangalore and Mangalore. The issue would be discussed with CM Siddaramaiah, said minister Santosh.
A Malaysian infrastructure developing conglomerate expressed interest to lay monorail track of 30 kilometers to 40 kilometers in Bangalore, 25 kilometers in Hubli and 30 kilometers in Mangalore. Appropriate decision will be taken in this regard after the detailed study, added minister Santosh.
The minister Santosh expressed hope to introduce uniform policy for advertisement tariff of government advertisements shortly, in order to put an end to differential rates that has created confusion among the publishers.
