Mumbai: Karnataka Sangh – Kalyan Presents Devotional Singing Programme in Metro

Mumbai, 17 Sep, 2013 : Karnataka Sangh of central suburban Kalyan organized devotional music programme during the holy month Hindu calendar Shravana here on Sunday September 15.
Sugam Sangeet programme that was sponsored by the late Sharada Shetty Memorial Trust held at the terrace of Sharada Apartment, Kalyan, here, where Bhaskar Shetty (Gurudev), the key advisor and benefactor of Karnataka Sangh lives.
Bhaskar Shetty inaugurated the programme in the presence of office bearers of the Sangh, and hundreds of people gathered on the occasion.
Karnataka Sangh education and literary Committee president K N Satish and benefactor Gururaj Kanjikar were instrumental in organizing this programme.
The devotional singing began by worshiping Lord Ganapati by Asha Nayak set the motion for spiritual bliss. The musicians Nalini Kottalagi, Uma Nayak, Vibha Deshmukh, Pushpa Upadhyaya, Vidhya Kiran Pai, Mahalaxmi Torvi, child singers Lavanya, Tanvi Hegde, Urvi, Vishwanat Shetty, Gururaj Kanjikar, Sridar Kulkarni, K N Satish and others staged Hindustani classical music and devotional singing programme along with playback musicians Surabhi Sadale, Susheela Patak, Samvadini and Gopal Raghavan.
Karnataka Sangh president T S Upadhyaya in his welcome address lauded the support of Bhaskar Shetty in the endeavors of Karnataka Sangh and also the latter’s love for traditional culture and religiousness.
The founder president Nanda Shetty felicitated Bhaskar Shetty and all the musicians on the occasion.
The women wing president Darshan Sonkar proposed vote of thanks.
