Udupi: Man killed, many hurt bus-car collision

Udupi, 17 Sep 2013: A 62-year-old man died and several others sustained critical injuries in a road mishap involving a car and a private bus in Parkala near Manipal here on Monday afternoon.

 

 

Manipal police said the deceased, Vasanth Kamath, was a resident of Perdoor. Kamath was driving his car from Udupi to Perdoor at around 1.20pm, when he crashed into a bus coming from the opposite direction. The bus later plunged into a gorge abuting the main road resulting in injuries to passengers in the bus. Though he was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal, he succumbed to injuries. The injured persons are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Manipal.
