Mangalore: Direct transfer to Beneficiaries of State Facilities Fully Covered by Jul 2014

Mangalore, 07 August, 2013 : The union government will extend the facilities of direct payments to the beneficiaries that make it compulsory to have Aadhaar Card and a bank account, said area publicity directorate assistant director K P Rajeevan.
Rajeevan was speaking on Bharat Nirman state – 2 programme, during a function that was organized jointly by the directorate of area publicity, Mangalore unit, women and child welfare department at Shalepadav Yuvaka Mandal hall, here on Tuesday August 6.
Under the direct transfer system, government loans, facilities, subsidies will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of respective beneficiaries, in order to avoid delay and eliminate middlemen’s menace. In order to get such benefits, the beneficiaries ought to have Aadhaar Cards and bank accounts, said Rajeevan.
The direct transfer system has been introduced in Mysore, Tunkur and Dharwad districts of Karnataka since January 2013, while it would be extended to the rest of state by July 2014, added Rajeevan.
Mangalore taluk panchayat president Harish after inaugurating the programme said, ‘Aadhaar Card enrollment centers will be opened in the limits of Moodushedde gram panchayat in the coming week, for the benefit people in availing state benefits,’ said Harish.
Moodushedde gram panchayat president Shambavi presided the function.
The area publicity department official Srikant delivered the introductory address. The women and child welfare department officer Madhuri compered the programme. Anganawady teacher Hema proposed vote of thanks.
