Udupi: Free Healthcare Services available at Door-step of Rural People; ZP Prez Upendra

Udupi, 05 August, 2013 : The state government is concerned of wellbeing of common-folks. The Primary Health Centers (PHCs) that are functioning in each village is providing basic healthcare services. The newly-launched Suvarna Arogya Chaitanya Yojana that was introduced by the state government during this August enables health check-ups of all students in different schools. The health check-up camps are being organized by different social welfare and voluntary organizations in villages by surgeons enable the common-folks to get best of medicare. The free health services have come to door-steps of rural folks through peoples’ awareness programmes, said ZP panchayat president B Upendra Nayak.
Upendra was speaking after inaugurating free eye check-up camp that was held in association with Netra Jyoti Charitable Trust, Prasad Netralaya, district health and family welfare society, blindness eradication division, district hospital, Bharat Nirman volunteers group – Shirva and RCI – Shirva at community health center, Shirva, near here on Sunday August 4.
ZP member Ida Gilbert D’Souza presided the programme here on Sunday morning.
The district blindness eradication officer Dr Nityanand Nayak offered information on general awareness and taking care of eyes.
The community health center medical officer Dr Vasudev Upadhyaya offered information on the eye check-up camp on the occasion.
RCI – Shirva president Leo Noronha, secretary Raghupati Ithal, Bharat Nirman group president K R Patkar, Prasad Netralaya surgeon Dr Daniel were present on the dais.
TP member Rita Mathias and Shirva gram panchayat member Grace Cardoza were also present.
The dentist Dr Sandeep Kumar welcomed the gathering. Bharat Nirman unit secretary Ammi rendered the prayers. The health assistant Nagayya Hiremut compered the programme. Ganesh Mattar proposed vote of thanks.
