Mangalore: St Christopher Association Convenes 46th AGM at Rosario Parish Auditorium

Mangalore, 5 Aug 2013: St Christopher Association, an association of Christian drivers and automobile owners convened their forty-sixth annual general body meeting at Rosario parish auditorium, here on Sunday August 4.
Earlier, Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza concelebrated Thanksgiving Mass along with parish priest J B Crasta and assistant parish priest Fr Alwyn D’Souza at Rosario Cathedral, here on Sunday morning.
Bishop Dr Aloysius blessed automobiles, two-wheelers and auto rickshaws, goods tempos that were parked at the premises.
The Association honorary president Susheel Noronha, president Victor Menezes , secretary Herald D’Souza, joint secretaries Denis D’ Souza and Raymond D’Cunha were also present on the occasion.
Bishop Dr Aloysius presided the forty-sixth annual general body meeting of the Association.
Walter D’Souza was the chief guest of the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Dr Aloysius said the Association thrives with the love and empathy to fellow brethrens who earn their livelihood, by working hard in running their automobiles. St Christopher during his Samaritan service, once carried Lord himself across the stream; nonetheless, their job is lesser than noble profession, said Bishop Dr Aloysius.
Walter D’Souza urged the office bearers to increase the membership of Association and public a bulletin that carries the reports of drivers who are rewarded for good behavior, discipline and dignity of labor. It would inspire others to follow suit, urged Walter.
The dignitaries felicitated the meritorious children of Association members during the programme.
The spiritual director and new treasurer Fr J B Crasta, vice president Francis D’Souza was present at the dais.
Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh president Nigel Periera, AICU vice president Lancy D’Cunha, MACCO Society president and vice presidents were also present.
