Though symbolic, the minister s efforts to encourage citizens towards proper handling of garbage is laudatory. It is fitting because he heads the urban development department. his department should work closely with all CMCs, TMCs, and GPs in improving standards of our public hygiene and cleanlines. In the past 10 days, I traveled 3,500 Kms, passing through cities, towns and villages in three southern states. This was immediately after ten days of traveling through another Asian country. The contrast was striking! Our public hygiene begs for urgent attention. WE ARE FILTHY and must realize it NOW. | |
