Mangalore: MLA J R Lobo Releases Montage, Muller Pulse 2013 Magazine at Fr. Muller Medical College

Mangalore, June 19: Father Muller Medical College launched Montage – Muller Pulse 2013 magazine at the Decennial Hall, here on Tuesday June 18 evening.

MLA J R Lobo, Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, woman entrepreneur, poet and writer Giselle D Mehta were the chief guests of the occasion. 

Montage - Muller Pulse 2013 magazine editor Deepak Varghese briefed on the magazine.

MLA J R Lobo after releasing the magazine, said that the quality of the photographs shows the diverse interest of the medical students reflected in the magazine. The first thought about medical students is that, they are concentrating on only one field but after seeing the Muller Pulse magazine we can say that medical students have diverse interests, said MLA Lobo.
 
MLA Lobo further said that involvement in such activities will help the students to prepare for better tomorrow. Prepare yourself for better tomorrow because society needs talented doctors. You need to serve the society at this juncture; you need to give your best to your patients. Doctors need to be good in heart and mind to deal with the patients because patients treat doctors as their God, they come to the doctors with the hope of recovering from their sickness. A good word can heal the patient or console them. Doctors need professional knowledge along with a kind heart too. Your deep professional knowledge will not make your better doctor but your attitude towards the patient will make your a great doctor, added MLA Lobo.
 
MLA Lobo stressed that the institution has 134 years of history and it is famous for its values and service towards poor and downtrodden. This institution has grown with the platform of charity. Imbibe the values of this institution and become an institution, stressed MLA Lobo. ‘If you will not imbibe the values you will grow as an individual and people will recognize you as a individual,’ said MLA Lobo.
 
Speaking on the occasion Giselle urged the students to be creative outside the medical life through activities, cultural and other creative activities outside the domain of medicine. As future doctors one should be well aware that understanding of the human mind is necessary, urged Giselle. She further said, ‘the medical students are intelligent and intelligent professionals keep their profession holistic. Be righteous because you are the healers,’ said Giselle.
 
Fr Patrick Rodrigues in his presidential address said that reading makes a person smart but writing makes a perfect man. He further said to put the thoughts in writing and make it available to the public. Some have the skill of writing which inspires many people. Make use of the talents and pen down in a paper and make it available to the public, said Fr Patrick.

Father Muller Medical College dean Dr J P Alva was also present.

Dr Princy L Palatty welcomed the gathering.  Father Muller Medical College administrator Fr Denis D’Sa introduced the chief guests.  Sanjay George delivered the vote of thanks.
