Hassan, Jun 17: The child grows depending on the outlook of its parents If the parents are pro-social, the child grows accordingly, while if the parents are fascists, child grows as fascist. If parents are corrupt, child also grows corrupt. The parents have to nurture the traditional living by fostering secular values. In this context, Father’s Day has great significance, said Indian Knowledge Science Committee district secretary Ahmed Hagare.
Ahmed was speaking during World Parent’s Day that was organized by city based Munjane Mitrara Tanda, at Rotary Bhavan, here on Sunday June 16.
If the mother has the responsibility of growing the child, father has the responsible to enhance it, said Ahmed. World Father’s Day was introduced in 1910 and World Mother’s Day was introduced in 1909 to convince the new generation about the struggles of their parents in growing up. Since then, World Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 2 and World Father’s Day on third Sunday of June. If both these celebrations are observed as national festivals, with all likelihood Indian traditional living will become more pro-society, added Ahmed.
Munjane Mitrara Tanda secretary Sudhir expressed his deep concern over ill treating the elderly parents by their children who are dumping them in old age homes without realizing the hardships that the former have gone through to grow them.
