Hassan: Malnutrition give rise to Several Diseases: Dr Shivakumar

Hassan, 9 Jun 2013: The children suffer from many diseases owing to un-nutritious foods, said A R T Medical Centre Dr Shivakumar.
Dr Shivakumar was speaking after inaugurating nutritious food distribution programme that was jointly organized by district health authorities and Tavaru Public Charitable Trust at Sri Krishna Kalyana Mantap, near north layout, Aralikatte Road, here on Saturday June 8.

The nutritious food is essential for a child to grow in order to become a responsible citizen of our country.  Those children affected AIDS need nutritious food and hygienic care.  The health department has been providing healthy foods to children who are victims of AIDS, said Dr Shivakumar.

 

 

The district health officer Shabbir Ahmed said that the health assistants are going round the localities as the dengue fever has been detected in the district.  The lack of cleanliness is responsible for all communicable diseases including malaria that are water-borne, said Ahmed.  He also advised to treat AIDS victims humanely.

The nutritious supplements were distributed to the AIDS victims at the occasion.Mumbai-based Volkart Limited executive director Saifuddin Barodawala, district AIDS eradicating unit chief Dr P L Nataraj, Madhupriya, Utkrumbi and others were present at the dais.
Tavaru Public Charitable Trust chairman Dr H K Palaksha welcomed the gathering.  Vijay and Shakuntala rendered the prayers.
