Udupi: ULB Polls - Cong releases first list

Udupi, 22 Feb 2013: Udupi Block Congress Committee has released the first list of candidates contesting for Udupi CMC polls to be held on March 7.

 

Speaking to the media persons, Udupi Block Congress Committee president Pramodh Madhawaraj said the second list of the candidates will be out shortly.

 

“Some BJP councilors had approached the Congress for the  seat, however we are yet to take a decision. The second list is delayed as some of the wards have two contenders. We are in the process of finalising the names. Party is expecting to sweep away some 20 seats,” he added.

The first list comprises of the names of Prashanth Ameen (Kola),Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje (Kodavoor), Hormis Noronha (Moodubettu), Janaki Ganapathy Shettygar (Kodankur) Tara Narayana Poojary (Nittur), Chandrakant Nayak (Gopalpur), Celin Karkada (Karamballi) Prashanth Bhat (Moodupermapalli), Jyoti Naik (Saralabettu), Prasad Rai (Settibettu),  Sathish Saliyan (Eshwarnagar), Bharath Kumar (Manipal), Vijaya Manchi (Indrali), Hemalatha (Indiranagar), Vijaya Poojary (Badagubettu),  Chandramohan (Chittapadi),  Shantharam Salvankar (Kasturba Nagara), Shashiraj Kunder (Kunjibettu), Geetha D Shet (Kadiyali), R K Ramesh Poojary (Gundibailu), Praveen Shetty (Bannanje), Vidya Prakash (Olakadu), Amritha Krishnamurthy Acharya (Kinnimulki), Hassan Saheb Ajjarkadu (Ajjarkadu), Durgadass Shetty (Sheeribeedu) and Sujatha Shetty (Ambalpadi).
