Udupi: Sensitization Program to Promote Peace in Society Essential - K P Acharya

Udupi, 01 Jan 2013: The society is plagued with violence, rape and all sorts of evil, while rising levels of intolerance is the root-cause for law and order disturbances even in localities of Kaup. This calls for Rotary Clubs to organize sensitization programmes to promote peace and communal harmony, said K P Acharya, chairman of Vidhyaniketan group of education institutions, Kaup, near here.
K P Acharya was speaking after inaugurating peace convention of Rotary district 3 at Vidhyaniketan Public School, Kaup, here on Sunday December 30.
Rotary district former governor Suryaprakash Bhat in his keynote address said that the homes are emerging as hotels, giving rise to disharmony that goes beyond their homes in disturbing peace in society, said Suryaprakash.
The national award winner teacher Kudi Vasant Shetty offered information on solving family issues.
B M Jaffer, chairman of Tonse Health Centre was felicitated during the programme.
Rotary former assistant governor Pundalika Marate, N Tukaram Shetty, Ramesh Bhandary and assistant governor Madhav Suvarna were present at dais.
Kaup Rotary president James D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Sudhir Kumar offered prayers. Balakrishna Acharya proposed vote of thanks. Srinivas Rao compered the programme.
