Mangalore: RACHANA organizes seminar on “Brand Mangalore in Present Scenario”

Mangalore, 27 Aug 2012: RACHANA, Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a seminar on “Brand Mangalore in Present Scenario” on Sunday, August 26,2012 at 7 pm at Loa Oasis Roof Garden, Pio Mall, Bejai, Mangalore. Dr. Ronald A. Fernandes, MCJ, Ph.D., Bureau Chief, Deccan Herald, Mangalore, delivered the keynote address.
Roy Castelino, President of RACHANA welcomed the guests and gathering and explained the various activities of RACHANA in building and promoting strong community to face the challenges of present times.
The chief guest of the evening, Dr. Ronald A. Fernandes was introduced by Ronald Gomes, ex-President of RACHANA. Dr. Ronald had been the editor of Deccan Herald since 1977 and presently he is the Bureau Chief of the same publication. He has been a well-known figure in the media circle and was honoured with a number of prestigious awards.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Ronald said that Mangalore has a long history in commerce and industry. The first newspaper that was published in the city was “Mangalore Samachar” nearly 169 years ago. People of Mangalore speak many languages. Dr. Ronald also recalled the development of education, banking and health care in the city which have reached considerable height compared to other parts of India. He pointed out that Mangalore has a lot of potential to be one of the great cities in India.
