Udupi: Nagarika Samiti distribute books to rural students

Udupi, 08 June 2012: Udupi District Nagarika Samiti distributed free note books to 2,000 students of rural area on Thursday. The program was inaugurated by Paryaya Sode Vadiraja Mutt’s Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Shripada, who initiated the book distribution program and conveyed best wishes. Chief guest of the program Shiroor Mutt Divana Latavya Acharya spoke and said that, today the education is important to everyone.
Speaking further Latavya said that, the development of India is a challenge to the developed nations like America. Education is the reason for this development, he said. Nityananda Volakadu of the Nagarika Samiti always responds to the needs of people and since the last 11 years the Samiti has been distributing books, which is appreciable, he said.
The program was presided over by Parkala Mahalingeshwara Temple Trustee Shrinivasa Upadyaya. On the dias Social worker K. Krishnamurthy Acharya, Aryabhat awardee Kamalaksha Prabhu, Rotary Club Manipal Former President Mitra Bhandarkar and Nityananda Volakadu were present.
