Students Back to School; after long happy holidays...

Udupi, 31 May 2012: It was time for the students of Primary and High School to go back to the schools after spending a long happy holidays.  Some lucky students in some of the schools were fortunate enough to get some sweets as many schools distributed sweets on the first day of the school.

 

Minister of Education Kageri has instructed all the schools to begin the new academic year in a very grand celebration with schools decorated and students be taken in the procession and sweets to be distributed on the first day of the school.

 

However no decoration could be seen in any of the schools not even school procession contrary to the orders of the minister.  The schools managed to celebrate beginning of schools as per their capacity and interest.  On the back drop of Minister’s order, the education inspectors planned to pay surprise visit to 8 - 10 schools to check if the Minister’s orders have been implemented.

 

 

 

One of the Inspector Mr. Ashok Kamat paid surprise visit to eight schools said that these schools have begun in a very good manner and as instructed.  One of the schools he visited i.e. Udyawara Primary School (Kannada Medium) learnt that 58 students have joined the school and a good donor had distributed 2 pairs of uniform free costing Rs.1500 including a book and slate to each student.

 

In the same manner another donor distributed 88 students of Indira Nagar school of City Council note books and also distributed 100 students of Ollakadu School, note books free.  Many schools of the district had arranged small celebrations and books, school bags and uniforms were distributed.

 

Most of the schools arranged Payasam along with afternoon meal and some of the schools distributed laddus.  However the school attendance was much less being the first day of the new academic year.

 

Strike by BJP today; but no holiday

The BJP government has declared Nationwide Bandh (Strike) today but no holiday has been declared to the schools. However, there is a chance that many students may not attend the schools due to no transportation of Buses is available due to strike.  Most of the schools are expected full attendance only on Friday, 1st June 2012.
