Udupi, 31 July 2011: Will there be a new Chief Minister for the undivided South Kanara district for the second time? this question is being discussed among the people of Udupi – Mangalore, while the political drama is underway in the state. Earlier Veerappa Moily, the then MLA of Udupi-Karkala had become the Chief Minister of the state, becoming the first ever Chief Minister from the coastal districts.
Sadananda Gowda Veerappa Moily VS Acharya
Last time while some Independent MLAs caused difficult situation to the state government, there has been high expectations in BJPs Udupi camp that Dr. V. S. Acharya will take the place of Yeddyurappa. But Yeddyurappa stuck to his seat. This time when the political drama began and Dr. Acharya’s name came up, BJP Udupi camp was happy that the CM post will go to the coastal district for the second time. But now no one is talking about Dr. Acharya in Bangalore.
But the name of D. V. Sadananda Gowda the MP of Udupi is being talked about now. Whether he will become the new Chief Minister of the state or not, will be known soon. Overall, this time in BJP Udupi camp though there is despair, there is also silent expectation floating. But the BJP leaders of the district do not dare to express it loudly. Because no one knows what kind of glue Yediyurappa has used to stuck to his seat!
Lalaji Mendon Raghupati Bhat Haladi Srinivas
Now the confusion has spread among the BJP workers with the discussions that who is on Yediyurappa’s side and who is on High Command’s side. Baindoor MLA Laxminarayana is one among the close one to CM and is under the scanner of High Command. Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon in all the previous occasions was on CM’s side and this time also he is there.
Kota Srinivas Laxminarayana
Kundapura MLA Haladi Shrinivasa Shetty has not shown his support to either sides and is neutral. But MLC Kota Shrinivasa Poojary and Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat seem to stand between the two sides, because they are not showing their support to either sides and when asked they say that they are with the party.
