Wilfy Nite brings Doha - Qatar Konkani Community together

Doha/ Qatar, 24 Apr 2016: The Wilfy Nite organized by the Konkani Speaking Community at the Lady of Arabia Hall in Rosary Church premises, here on Friday April 22 brought the community together with a grand success. The musicians who arrived from Mangaluru along with local artists put up a great performance full of melodious music, sensational dance, and rib-tickling comedy skits provided mind blowing entertainment to large audience who witnessed this spectacular show.
The programme began at 5.30pm sharp with a keynote address by Reena Castelino, who introduced the guests, sponsors and briefed the audiences on the fabulous show ahead that evening.
Fr Anand Castelino, the spiritual director of Konkani Speaking Community who was also instrumental in organizing this event thanked all the sponsors and welcomed everyone to the event.
After this, Reena Castelino called upon the ace compere of the show Leslie Rego who took over from there stunned the audiences with the phenomenal show. The family of Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus, ‘Konkan Myna’ Meena Rebimbus, Veena Pais, Vishwas Rebimbus, Arvin and little Roger together with Ivan Sequeira and the local artistes Carol D’Souza, Rupert Lobo, Sana and Natcy, who were well supported by Avinash D’Souza and others mesmerized the audiences with sensational singing, feast of selected songs from Wilfy’s popular numbers along with some new compositions of Veena and Vishwas.
The local talented artistes Aloysius D’Souza, Sandeep Noronha, Merlyn D’Souza, Vivian D’Souza, Anil Cutinho and Alwin Goveas presented series of humorous and hilarious rib-tickling comedy skits that floated the audiences with laughter. The music was composed by Joswin along with Agnelo and other local artistes. The stage was set with spectacular special effects by Symphony.
Dazzling stars of Qatar presented fantastic dances choreographed marvelously. The young dazzling stars were Katelyn Almeida, Ashlyn Almeida, Anushka Fernandes, Anna Pinto, Crizelle Pinto, Priya Noronha, Nikita Rego, Saloni Lobo, Larissa Tauro, Grecy D’Cunha, Shamel Fernandes, Shown Fernandes, Anushka Fernandes, Yadav Putran, Ashlyn Almeida, Jyothi D’Souza, Savious Crasta, Amelita Martis, Lavin Tauro, Shaila Menezes, Pradeep Menezes, Aston D’Souza, Carol D’Cunha, Ridge Dias, Calista Noronha, Snasloy D’Silva and Ruth Quadros. These dances were choreographed by Dimple Rajesh, Anushka Fernandes, Jyothi D’Souza Noronha and Antony Peter D’Souza.
The parish priest Fr Selvaraj was the chief guest of the stage programme who was offered floral welcome by Konkani Speaking Community president Vivian D’Souza.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Selvaraj lauded the Konkani Community led by Fr Anand Castelino in organizing this event for a greater cause and appreciated the artistes led by Meena Rebimbus and the local talent who are part of the show.
Felix Lobo, managing director of Qatar Meta Coats in his speech narrated the life of Wilfy and his family and their contribution towards Konkani music.
Exblowra Trading & Contracting was the main sponsor and Qatar Meta Coats were the co-sponsors of this event. Joyston and Joyline Infrastructure Co were the music sponsors. Construction Development Company was the hall sponsor. The co-sponsors were Gulf International Enterprises and Al Amer Garage & Transport. Bellevision.com was among the media partner of this event.
It was a non-stop entertainment that enthralled the Konkani Speaking Community who enjoyed the evening that was full of musical fiesta, comedy and entertainment. There has been plenty of hard work behind this show put up by Konkani Speaking Community led by spiritual director Fr Anand Castelino, president Vivian D’Souza and organizing Committee members Riana Pinto, Veena Pais, Arthur Pias, Vincy Lobo, Sandeep Noronha, Reena Castelino, Prakash Noronha, William Lobo, Anil Cutinho, Aloysius D’Souza, Merlyn D’Souza, Jerald D’Souza, Alwin Goveas, Bertha Rodrigues, Joaquim Dias, Sunil D’Silva, Teresa Maria Goveas, Gracy Danthy, Martin Mascarenhas, Antony Estrocio, Christine D’Cunha, Kenny Rego and Antony Vaz.
