Udupi: Parichaya Pamboor Presents Wilfy Rebimbus Nite at Pamboor parish grounds

Udupi, 16 Feb 2015: Parichaya, an organization engaged in promoting Indian art, culture, and literature at Pamboor, near here organized Wilfy Rebimbus Nite at Holy Cross parish grounds, Pamboor, here on Sunday February 15.
Udupi diocesan Episcopal vicar Monsignor Fr Baptist Menezes , Pamboor parish priest Fr Paul Rego, Shirva parish priest Fr Stany Tauro and other priests from neighbouring parishes were present.
The program started with the Parichaya Anthem and the secretary Prakash Noronha briefed about Parichaya.
The Rebimbus family was welcomed and introduced them o the gathering.
Monsignor Baptist Menezes shared his views and concern about the late Konkani legendary singer Wilfy Rebimbus and his musical concerts.
The musical concert was compered by Vincent Alva.
Meena Rebimbus gave a start to the musical Nite by singing the first song and Edward Sequeira gave a brief insight about the song. Before each song an introduction about the song and message what the late Wify Rebimbus wanted to convey.
Fr Valerian Mendonca, Fr Denis D’Sa, Fr.Pius D’Souza OCD, Fr Chetan Lobo OFM, Dr Gerald Pinto, Daijiworld Weekly editor Hemacharya, Konkani playwright and director Arun Raj Rodrigous, Dirvem – Konkani monthly editor John Monis, John Mariabhumi, Eric Soans, Kishoo Barkur, Irene Rebello, Andrew Mathias, Alwyn Danti, Leslie Rego gave an insight about the songs of the late Wilfy.
Meena Rebimbus, Vishwas Rebimbus, Prem Lobo, Ivan Sequeira, Claude D’Souza, Babitha D’Sa, Glen D’Souza, Munita Veigas, Oliver Rebello, Prajoth D’Sa, Anil D’Sa, Shyona D’Almeida joined their voices to make the musical evening sound beautiful.
Papan Joswin and his team were the music arrangers. Pamboor parish priest FrPaul Rego also sang a song during the programme. Charleen Rebimbus thanked Parichaya - Pamboor and all who were responsible for the success of the programme.
Monsignor Baptist Menezes along with the members of Parichaya felicitated Meena Rebimbus.
Edward Sequeira created a portrait of the late Wilfy by using the names of his songs and no shadings. The popular comedian Dolla Manglur presented rib-tickling jokes and mimicry.
The sponsors were felicitated. The Musical Nite concluded with a chorus song, ‘Mog Kora Mai Bhas Konknecho.’

Congratulations to Parichaya and team members esp. Vincy Alva, Anil Pangla, Prakash Noronha for successfully organizing such a great tribute to our legend Wilfy Rebimbus. There is no other greater stage than Parichay in Udupi Diocese to recognize talent of our dear Wilfy Baab. Wishing his family members to continue his legacy and let Wilfy Rebimus live in our hearts for ever.. May his soul rest in peace.
