Moodubelle: Ida Gibba DSouza wins Zilla Panchayat Election from Shirva

Moodubelle, 04 January 2011: Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza (Congress) of Moodubelle has been declared elected as the member of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat from the Shirva Zilla Panchyat Constituency following the counting of votes on Tuesday, 4th January 2011. Congress party has also registered victories in Perdoor, Brahmavara, Udyavara, Kallianpura, Hebri and Belmannu, whereas BJP has won from Basrur, Koteshwara, Haladi, Kota, Mandarti, Hiriadka, Kaup, Yellur, Padubidri, Bailur, Miyar, Bajegoli.
Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza is the daughter of Louis D’Souza and Veronica D’Souza of Podikambla. She had studied in St. Lawrence Composite PU College up to PUC and has also studies short-hand and typing. She married Mr. A.G. D’Souza, popularly known as ‘Gibba’ a well-known building contractor in belle and also the present member of the Belle Grama Panchayat.
Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza has been an active member of the Mahila Mandal for the last 25 years and has been a member of various parish associations. She has been a member of Shri Kshetra DharnmasthalaGramabhivruddhi Yojane. Presently she is the president of the Old Students Association of Moodubelle Church Aided Higher Primary School. She has been an active worker of the Congress Party since the last 15 years.
