Beans Curry

  • Beans - 25
  • Potato - 1
  • Dhal - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste

To Grind:

  • Coconut - 2 cups
  • Onion - 1
  • Red Chilly - 6
  • Coriander seeds - 2 tea sp.
  • Mustard seeds - 3/4 tea sp.
  • Cumin seeds - 3/4 tea sp.
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea sp.
  • Tamarind

For seasoning:

  • Garlic - 4 big
  • Curry leaves - 1 branch
  • Mustard seeds - 3/4 tea sp.
  • Oil - 3 table sp.


* Clean and cut beans into 1 inch pieces, and potatoes into cubes * Grind masala finely.


* In a vessel put beans, water, salt and keep on the gas to boil it.


* When beans are half cooked, wash and add potato cubes and dhal and add enough water to it.


* When everything is cooked sufficiently, add ground masala to it, mix well and bring it to boil.


* Season this mixture with oil. (Heat oil in a separate pan, add mustard seeds, garlic and curry leaves. and pour that oil mixture to the beans curry. )


* Serve hot with rice, chapati etc.
