Bangalore, 23 October 2010: The Bangalore Division of South Western Railway (SWR) on Friday threw open a dedicated Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) Centre in the renovated Passenger Reservation System (PRS) building at the City Railway Station here.
While the centre has been commissioned, it will be fully operational within two days, said an official release. Unreserved ticket counters were earlier located in the passenger concourse area in the station building and with this relocation, the concourse is relieved of excessive crowding.
Later in the day, SWR General Manager Kuldeep Chaturvedi and Bangalore’s Divisional Railway Manager Sudhanshu Mani inspected the centre while Mr. Mani explained Bangalore Division’s further plans for improvement of the station.
