M’lore: Bus fares to be hiked from September 15

Mangalore, 14 September 2011: Commuters traveling between the twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, in the service and express buses, will have to cough up more from Thursday.

 

 

The revised fares range from a minimum of 50 paise to a maximum of Rs 3, according to the revised fare list of the DK Regional Transport Authority (RTA).The first two stages, from 0.1 km to 6.50 km and 6.6 km to 13 kms, remained unchanged at Rs 5 and Rs 9 respectively.

 

The third stage has seen a hike of 50 paise (kms 13.1 to 19.5) from Rs 13 to Rs 13.50. Thereafter, the hike is limited to Re 1 till the 10 thstage. From the 11 thstage to 18 thstage, the hike has been Rs 2. From 19 thstage to 24 thstage the hike is Rs 2.50 and the last stage which is 25 (kms 156.1 to 162.5), the hike is Rs 3. The Udupi RTA has not announced the hike as yet.
