Mangalore: 14 Go Green Girls on Bicycle Expedition from Kutch to Kochi arrive in City

Mangalore, Feb 4, 2014 : Women’s Adventure Network India (WANI) organized bicycle expeditions from Kutch in Gujarat to Kochi in Kerala from January 5 to February 7.
The fourteen participants between the age group of 13 -78 years ventured in this expeditions. They reached here on Monday Feb 2. The participants from Skating Academy joined them at Karnataka Polytechnic (KPT) roundabout here on NH 66. They held a Green Walk from Father Muller Kankanady roundabout till Roshni Nilaya – School of Social Work at Valencia.
Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo, Karnataka Bank managing director AnanthaKrishna, NMPT deputy director T S N Murthy flagged-off the Green Walk by handing over a sapling to the team leader of Go Green Girls. Mahesh Skating Academy and Father Muller College of Nursing principal Sr Winifred led the walk.
The participants and dignitaries were welcomed with ‘arathi’ in front of Roshni Nilaya’s entrance gate and were led to plant the sapling in front of the auditorium.
The students of Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work staged a folk-dance before the beginning of stage programme.
Roshni Nilaya founder principal Dr Olinda Pereira presided the programme.
AnanthKrishna and T S N Murthy were the chief guest and all 14 participants of Go Green Girls were present on the dais.
The faculty co-ordinator Evelyn Benis welcomed the gathering. Commander Ramchandra briefed the Go Green event. The student’s convener Sr Anita proposed the vote of thanks.
Commander Ramchandra and Global TV director Paulous were instrumental in organizing Go Green Girls visit to city.
