Mangalore: Three-day annual feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz held at Pilgrimage Shrine, Mudipu

Mangalore, 12 Dec 2013: The annual feast of Blessed Joseph Vaz parish, Mudipu, near here was held with religious fervor from Wednesday December 4 to Friday December 6.

 

Mangalore diocesan vicar general Fr Denis Moras Prabhu concelebrated the festal Eucharistic Celebration at Blessed Joseph Vaz pilgrimage shrine, Mudipu, here on Wednesday at 10.30am, along with parish priest Dr Gregory D’Souza and assistant parish priest Fr Melvyn Noronha, and several clergies.

 

 

Fr Denis released the music notation composed by Mudipu parish choir master Simon Pais on the same occasion.

 

Mangala Jyoti director Fr Vijay Machado offered the Holy Mass at the shrine, here on Thursday December 5 at 10.30am.

 

Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza celebrated the Eucharistic Celebration at the shrine, here on Friday at 10.30am, along with several clergies from across the diocese.  The festal celebration was themed as Lord, teach us to pray.

 

The free food was offered to over 5,000 people who have attended the festal Eucharistic Celebration here on Friday afternoon.

 

The head-load offering of vegetables and coconuts, etc was held at the parish here on Sunday December 1.

 

The parish offers free food to all those who attend novena in honor of Blessed Joseph Vaz on every Fridays.
