Udupi: Pamboor Parish celebrates Annual Feast with Religious Fervor

Udupi, 12 Dec 2013: The annual feast of Holy Cross Church, Pamboor was held with religious fervor here on Wednesday December 11, 2013. Former parish priest, Fr Charles Lewis concelebrated the festal Eucharistic Celebration along with 14 clergies of different parishes across Shirva deanery on the occasion.

 
Fr Louis D’Sa in his homily explained that the Cross was regarded as an instrument of torture and punishment in ancient societies, but for Christians, it is an expression of God’s ultimate love and sacrifice. He urged the congregation not to become crosses for each other but carry their own small crosses with fortitude and love.

 
The famous brass band - Melody Stars created an atmosphere of pomp and gaiety. The choir was sublime.

 

 
The church premises held an air of festival with number of stalls dotting the grounds, selling sweets, toys, religious and fancy articles. The ICYM conducted different games like housie - housie, car race, and treasure fishing.

 
On the occasion of the annual feast, the long awaited website www.pamboorchurch.com was inaugurated by Fr Paul Rego, the enthusiastic and progressive parish priest of Pamboor.

 
The website is created by William Castelino of Ecreators, Moodbidri. The home screen was proudly held aloft amid loud applause and cheers of the parishioners and priests present. The domain is sponsored by Robert Meera Saldanha and the portal is created with the hope that the people of Pamboor, whereever in the world they maybe, will stay connected with the Pamboor parish and its activity.
