Confraternity Sunday observed in Holy Cross Church, Pamboor

Udupi, 09 Dec 2013: Confraternity Sunday, in preparation of the annual parish feast was celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Pamboor with pomp and gaiety on 8 December 2013.

The program started with the Inauguration of the Triple Arc Lights donated by Ligouri Alva and family from St.Sebastian Ward, followed by hoisting of the Papal colours by the parish priest, Fr.Paul Rego.

The church was beautifully and tastefully decorated and the procession path to B.C.Road was festooned with papal colour buntings, tube lights and verses from the Bible were hung along the way. The Holy Mass was a solemn homage to the Eucharist with beautiful singing by the choir. The guest co-celebrant,  Fr.Leo stressed in his meaningful sermon that the Eucharist is not contained within the period of the mass but a lifelong extension of the life and message of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 

The mass was followed by a candle procession to B.C.Road along with a brass band. The celebration culminated in consecration and blessing of the Eucharist which was brought in a festooned vehicle in a extremely beautiful monstrance.

The Confraternity Sunday was perhaps the most special one in the recent years. The entire parish infused by the enthusiasm and orchestration of the new parish priest Fr.Paul Rego helped in making it a truly community worship in the honour of the Holy Eucharist.

The annual parish feast of the Holy Cross Church, Pamboor will be celebrated on Wednesday, 12 December 2013.
