Udupi/M’belle, 08 Dec 2013: The preparations are under way at Belle Higher Primary School, Moodubelle, near here for the centenary celebrations that are scheduled to be held on Sunday December 29 Monday December 30.

Belle parish council and school governing council are striving to upkeep the school ground.  The local entrepreneur and alumnus of same school Gaurish Rai Moodubelle has lent his earthmovers in this task.  These earthmovers worked for three-days-and-nights overseen by school correspondent Fr Joswey Fernandes, headmaster Sylvester Mathias, Alumni Association president Rajendra Shetty, parents-teachers Association president Gerald Fernandes, sports secretary Vincent Fernandes.

The laying of drainage and repairs to entrance gate are in progress.  Further works are delayed due to shortage of funds.

The school governing council and Alumni Association seeks generous contributions from philanthropists and alumnus to complete the works at the earliest.

The ongoing works were essential to give a face-lift to the premises and play-ground, besides to handle storm water during monsoons and runaway drainage water from the nearby township round the year. However, the school also requires three numbers of guest teachers, on the payroll of school privately and whose wages are NOT borne by state education department. Local philanthropy is essential until state government revises its budgeting policy. I hope it will increase the teacher-student ratio to 1:20 in average for higher primary schools. Besides sponsoring guest teachers, the classroom ambience needs to be changed beyond what the current teaching staff can imagine. This does not require any money, only ideas, passion to implement them and a free hand/empowerment granted by the traditionalists in the school management. I have offered to support on all counts in the transformation required towards building a branded school teaching in Kannada medium.

"Ask not what your (school or) country should give you but what you should like to give to your country"(or School)-JFKennedy Please remember pointing fingers also point four fingers at you! Be a part of problem solution rather than aloof from problem. Actively participate for betterment rather than indifferent critic. Let all Alumni join in the successful Centenary Celebration of our Almamater. Ex-Student and well wisher.

Guys let us stop talking negative and support our Kannada medium primary school which gave us the good people, teachers and future. We are getting close to the centenary celebration. Let us all support and encourage those who work for it. Ground work is appreciable and looks big now. Sheela Master you are doing brilliant work and wishing you good luck and your entire team.

Good job from the old students and the school management. Good to see old students of Moodubelle are united and working for their own School.

Guru mercy for few and no mercy for others is policy followed by them :)
Ajay Martis, Moodubelle Sun, December-8-2013, 10:10
Stephen D souza, I think you should go and ask why your favorite teachers neither interview nor involvement not there in the website or School centenary program. If you are so keen you should take one interview of him and publish in this website. Let all people should know about your favorite teaches achievements and business during his school administration. Remember you cannot bite everything, something you should learn to swallow also.

Good to see all primary school news and grand events lineup in Moodubelle. Unknown name is shining everywhere. My memories goes back to school and all teachers efforts. Deeply missing Raphael Aranha, my head master from these. Why there is no news or pictures of him. He has encouraged us in many ways wish to see his interviews in this website.

I wonder why students and belleans can t use high school ground and it s so surprising to me since it is provided to the MERCY TROPHY for free??? Is this the partiality by the management or church.
Shalini Kamath, Belle Sun, December-8-2013, 11:53
I also agree with vicksons view. Old students of belle primary school should take care of this. Then funds will flow for their cause. Please remember that it is for students to students and by students :)
Umesh Pai, Moodubelle Sun, December-8-2013, 6:26
Once again poor planning for the school management. After completing ground leveling again digging and laying the drainage pipes? This should have done at the beginning of the ground leveling not after completion of leveling works.
Vickson Mendonca, Moodubelle Sun, December-8-2013, 6:10
Arun Shetty management will listen only when there is of need of funds they listen to everyone. when the need is fulfilled they forget everything. Remember playgrounds are made to play not to do farming. High School ground also developed by Belleans and not anyone else. So there is no harm in using our own playgrounds.

Agree with manoj, but others also should support for their own school development work. It will ensure bright future for belle and surrounding.
Manoj Fernandes, Moodubelle/Kuwait Sun, December-8-2013, 2:32
Now the ground looks big and more neat. Please maintain it the way it is. Let the Belleans make use of this ground. Good work by the entire team. Happy to see the involvement of Old students in centenary activities.
Arun shetty, Belle Bangalore Sun, December-8-2013, 2:24
Good plans to develop this ground but unlike our high school ground which has prohibited to the students playing, this ground shouldn t be same. Hope management is listening to this.
Alwyn Mathias, Belle Sun, December-8-2013, 2:15
Our school will have a brand new look after completion of this school ground. Big thanks to the people working towars this project.
